Brian Free and Assurance have one purpose... to share the love and saving grace of Jesus Christ through music. That is their calling and it is something that they do not take lightly. They have a sincere desire to see the lost saved and live be restored and renewed.
Since 1982, Brian has been at the forefront of southern gospel music, since first joining Gold City Quartet and then going on to form his own group, Assurance.
Southern Gospel Music has always been Brian Free's first love. He has always enjoyed tremendous success in his musical career, but his first priority as well as his fellow members, has and always will be their families.
Brian is married to his high school sweetheart, Pam. They have two sons, Ricky and Bryce. Their oldest son, ricky and his wife Kelly live in Hendersonville, TN and he is currently a session leader and producer in Nashville, TN.
Lead singer Bill Shivers and his wife Michelle have two beautiful daughters Brittany & Sarah Elizabeth, They reside in Temple, GA. Singing baritone is Derrick Selph. He and his wife Jennifer live in Villa Rica, GA. Rounding out the group is bass singer Jeremy Lile. Jeremy was awarded the 2008 Horizon Individual Award at the Singing News Fan Award Show. He and his wife Nikki reside in Maryville, TN.
Fans have honored Brian by voting him Favorite Male Singer, as well as voting him Favorite Tenor Singer a record eight times throughout the years. Their album "4 God So Loved" was named Favorite Album, but most recently they were honored to receive a Dove Award for Southern Gospel Recorded Song, " Long As I Got King Jesus."
Whether singing at the Alamo Dome in San Antonio, TX to the stage of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN a city auditorium or a rural country chruch, they will continue making music that touches people's hearts and lives, and that tells them the good news of the Gospel.
