Ladies and Gentlemen, Please Welcome The Mark Trammell Quartet!

George Younce said it best, “Mark Trammell is a ‘quartet man,’ period.” After two years of soul searching as the craft of the traditional gospel quartet became scarce, Mark Trammell is pursuing his life-long dream of having his own traditional male gospel quartet.

“All I'm really doing is returning to my roots,” stated Mark. “I was trained by some of the greatest men to ever take a quartet to the stage and I'm very excited about MTQ endeavoring to raise the bar when it comes our music and being able to minister to, as well as entertain our friends and fans."

Mark has always been about singing and not gimmicks. He reminds us that Glen Payne and George Younce taught him that at the end of the day if you want to be successful in stirring the hearts of the people, you MUST sing TO their hearts, and not just their heads.

Mark admits that there was a motive behind his decision to announce the change before knowing who the bass singer was going to be. While he openly states that this was not necessarily a “religious” awakening, he did want the right man for the position. In making the announcement the way he did, the prospects came to him, instead of him going on a search to find the right man.

The right man is Pat Barker. Pat has developed a reputation as one of today’s smoothest bass singers. Pat will be joining Mark Trammell, Dustin Sweatman and Joel Wood at the beginning of February 2010.

The quartet will be in the studio soon working on a summer release from Daywind Records.

Daywind Records is based in Hendersonville, TN, and is distributed worldwide through New Day Christian Distributors. In addition to the Mark Trammell Quartet, Daywind is home to such great artists as Greater Vision, the Perrys, and Legacy Five, among others. Daywind Records Introduces The Live At Oak Tree Series

Daywind Records has always had a strong belief in forging new paths of opportunity for ministry through artists and music. As a result of that commitment, the company began an incredible series with artists called Live At Oak Tree.

The Live At Oak Tree series takes the artists’ music and life testimonies and presents them in an intimate setting, giving the viewer/listener an opportunity to feel as if they are sitting in the living room with each individual artist, getting to know them and their heart. Some have said that this series is “better than a backstage pass.”

Michael Turner, Director of Marketing at Daywind, shared, “There really isn’t anything in our genre like these projects, and what sets this series apart is not only the studio setting, but also the inside look into the heart of the artist. We’ve been able to capture the artists in an intimate and personal setting, and they have shared stories about the songs they love to sing and life on and off the road.”

The first series of three Live At Oak Tree recordings, released in the spring, included Austins Bridge, Aaron & Amanda Crabb, and Crabb Revival. The second series, released this fall, included Greater Vision, Legacy Five, and the Booth Brothers. The third series, which will be released this February, includes Karen Peck & New River, Sisters, and Jeff & Sheri Easter. All of the recordings come in a CD/DVD combo format. Terah Crabb Penhollow: Putting Family First

Terah Crabb Penhollow has made the difficult decision to come off the road with Crabb Revival to be able to stay at home to be a mom and wife. After almost 15 years on the road and with her son, Logan, starting school this fall, Terah feels that this is the best decision for her family. Amanda Smith, a current member of the group, will take on Terah’s solos and vocal leads.

“I have been traveling on the road full time since I was 12 years old, I am now a 26 year old mother of a five year old sweet little boy, who will be starting Kindergarten this year! With lots of prayers that were prayed, I have decided it's time to come off the road for a while and focus on my family. Not only that, but I am very excited to get more involved in the church. I'm sad to leave, but I know that God has His hand on my brother and Crabb Revival. I am excited to see what is in store for them,” states Terah.

Adam Crabb adds, “All though I’m sad that Terah is leaving, I know that God has something great for her. She will be missed very much by all of Crabb Revival. In my heart, I know that she has prayed about this and is making the right decision for this season. I’m looking forward to see what God has in store for Crabb Revival. We have seen over 2000 souls saved in almost two years, and I can’t wait to see what happens next.”
